ARCUS Research is a self-directed residency program offering uninterrupted time and a contemplative environment for creative experimentation, in-depth fieldwork, and research. The program welcomes not only artists but also curators, researchers, writers, and other practitioners in the cultural field to engage in creative discourses and activities. Massey University's trans-disciplinary MFA operates a bespoke environment that is both nurturing and challenging. Located in the creative capital city Wellington, known for its adventurous art, design and film production, the Massey MFA emphasises the production of original creative work that is research-driven, critically engaged, expertly realised and highly innovative.

Massey College of Creative Arts in Wellington, New Zealand has substantial equivalency status from the US National Association of Schools of Art and Design—the only institution outside North America to achieve this. It is also the only Red Dot-ranked institution in Australasia.
