Perfect for emerging and diverse individuals looking to advance their artistic and curatorial skills. Through a series of talks, conversations, and presentations with professional curators, artists, and thinkers, and site visits to museums, galleries, studios, and alternative spaces, participants will be able to engage with the local art community and advance their careers as curators. This retreat focuses specifically on the Los Angeles’ art scene while participants develop transferable skills as a curator.

Interior and Spatial DesignThe School of Design in the Faculty of Design, Architecture and Building (DAB) at the University of Technology Sydney has over the past three years developed a Program in Interior and Spatial Design centred around critical spatial thinking, performative practice and narrative space.
Currently led by Professor Thea Brejzek, the Program is looking to expand its Faculty and research capacity by offering two new positions and launching a Practice-informed Research (PiR) PhD program in partnership with the University of Vienna.
Faculty positionsThe School of Design is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer / Lecturer for the Interior and Spatial Design program. The successful applicant will possess an exceptional teaching record in design, a vigorous creative practice and a clearly defined research focus.
UTS Interior and Spatial Design is dedicated to the development of a culture of critical thinking, spatial practice and applied research. A core focus is the development of a dialogue between theory and practice in Interior and Spatial Design.

PhD ProgramCritical Spatial Thinking: Design and Performative Practice
This PhD program brings together candidates and leading academics from the UTS School of Design and the Institute for Theatre, Film and Media Studies at the University of Vienna in a trans-disciplinary research cluster. PhD proposals must relate to one or several of the Programs main research areas:
–Critical Practices: Performance, Design and the Politics of Space
–Sharing Space: Collaborative Practices in Curating, Design and Performance

–Staging the City: Performative Strategies and the Activation of Urban Space
