CALL FOR APPLICATIONS ARCUS Research Winter 2027 We are pleased to announce the open call for ARCUS Research Winter 2027. ARCUS Research is a self-directed residency program offering uninterrupted time and a contemplative environment for creative experimentation, in-depth fieldwork, and research. The program welcomes not only artists but also curators, researchers, writers, and other practitioners in the cultural field to engage in creative discourses and activities. Located just an hour from Tokyo and near Mt. Tsukuba, ARCUS Research provides a tranquil setting and workspace where participants can reflect and deepen their creative process. The Faculty of Art and Design was founded at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar in November 1993. In celebration of its 20th Anniversary, the faculty is hosting a festival from 19–24 November 2013, with a variety of exhibitions, workshops and presentations. Serving as the spatial and social centre point of the event, a specially-installed salon will house artistically designed dinners, conversations and discussions, including with the renowned curator David Elliott.
A symposium concentrates on a contemporary notion of art and design in teaching and research. In the adjoining atelier, visitors will find exhibitions of different projects, including the Architecture and Design prize adream, as well as a library with publications from the faculty.
