Umeå School of Architecture (UMA) offers two master programs. Both programs are two years long with instruction entirely in English. Tuition fees are covered by Swedish government grants for EU citizens. Scholarships are available for non EU students. For more information see our website.

Master program Laboratory for Immediate Architectural Intervention at UMA
The master program Laboratory for Immediate Architectural Intervention is structured around the idea of architectural intervention, interrogated in relationship to its duration and effects in and around the community where it takes place; indeed, in its potential to create community.

Master program Laboratory for Sustainable Architectural Production at UMA
The master program Laboratory for Sustainable Architectural Production explores sustainable architecture in a holistic way, including cultural, social and economic sustainability. We investigate and design urban environments and contextual building structures.

Umeå School of Architecture (UMA)
Umeå School of Architecture (UMA) is the newest school of architecture in Sweden. It was established in 2009 and is gradually being developed into a laboratory of experimental architecture where both education and research are conducted. Here future architects are being trained in a unique environment based on an integrated approach of the artistic, technical and academic fields. The Umeå School of Architecture has an international profile and focuses on sustainability and integrated design. The school has internationally qualified architects and subject-specific teachers.

Umeå School of Architecture UMA is situated at Arts Campus by the river alongside Umeå Institute of Design, Umeå Art Academy, Bildmuseet and HUMLab X. The Arts campus is an international hotspot for education and research where students from different fields meet and cooperate.
