CALL FOR APPLICATIONS ARCUS Research Winter 2027 We are pleased to announce the open call for ARCUS Research Winter 2027. ARCUS Research is a self-directed residency program offering uninterrupted time and a contemplative environment for creative experimentation, in-depth fieldwork, and research. The program welcomes not only artists but also curators, researchers, writers, and other practitioners in the cultural field to engage in creative discourses and activities. Located just an hour from Tokyo and near Mt. Tsukuba, ARCUS Research provides a tranquil setting and workspace where participants can reflect and deepen their creative process. The MFA Computer Art Department emphasizes creative experimentation and a multidisciplinary approach to making art with computers and emerging technologies. Dedicated to producing digital artists of the highest caliber, the department guides each student in the development of a personal artistic style in a course of study that is individually tailored to meet his or her needs. Students come from around the world to study in this two-year, 60-credit MFA degree program, which has distinguished itself with eight Student Academy Awards.

School of Visual Arts has been a leader in the education of artists, designers, and creative professionals for more than six decades. With a faculty of distinguished working professionals, dynamic curriculum, and an emphasis on critical thinking, SVA is a catalyst for innovation and social responsibility.
